Why do we need those harsh chemicals in our face care products, hair care products (I'm not talking about perms, relaxers, and hair color! I understand why these products contain those chemicals!), body lotions, toothpaste, etc.?Why do cosmetic companies put sodium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, and calcium hydroxide in their products?

They do not. All you have to do is to read the copntents labels. These are regulated by the Food %26amp; Drug Administration. The most plenteous ingredient has to be listed first, followed by the next. You will never see the chemicals that you listed in your question on their labels. Because they are not there.
